The Australian Strongman Alliance was very proud to be able to offer a lot of great opportunities for athletes to head overseas and compete at the top level internationally during 2017. From that several athetles took home some podiums and first places. We were however missing a couple of spots Internationally in the Mens classes.
With great excitement we can now announce that the Australian Strongman Alliance will be able to offer athletes to qualify for some of the biggest events with greatest TV coverage and set up you will see in the sport of Strongman. Thanks to Glenn Ross and Ultimate Strongman, the ASA will, in 2018, be offering athletes in the Junior (Under 23), Masters (over 40) and Open Men (think Pro Level competition with names like Savickas, Hollands, Licis, Shahlei) a place to compete at the top level Internationally.
There will be qualification standards required to be able to compete as well as competitions to be held for people to be able to qualify. If you know people that would be interested in these places in both Australia and New Zealand let them know about this fantastic opportunity to be on stage with not only the best athetles in the word but the best competitions in the world. Over the next couple of weeks we will work with Ultimate Strongman to organise dates and events for you and your athletes to qualify.
The next major event coming up for ultimate Strongman is the "Men of Steel, Ultimate Strongman World Championship" in February. If you want to have an idea of the amazing events they have done in the past, have a look at this video of their Summermania from earlier this year, the place where Derek Poundstone chose to return from retirement :
