With all the international competition spots up for grabs, we've gotten a few questions about where the 2018 Australian Strongman Alliance Nationals can take you. To help you set your goals and to plan your competitions, here is a full list of the international opportunities that the 2018 Nationals can get you to.
Ultimate Strongman - World Championships Available for - Winner of the Open Mens Class.
Our Open Male winner will have the opportunity to compete with the best in the world in a stadium, televised with food and accommodation costs covered and partial flight costs covered at the UIltimate Strongman . This is a true top level competition with names like Zydrunas Savickas, Mateusz Kieliscowski and Martins Licis taking part in these events. This event will likely happen in September or October.
United States Strongman - Pro Women's Worlds Available for - Top 3 Women across all classes
1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each of the women's class at the ASA Nationals will get an invitation to compete at the United States Strongman Pro Women's Worlds in October in the USA. This is one of, if not the highest cash prize pool in the women's side of the sport with over $10,000 in cash prizes available for the athletes to take home, shared among the classes.
The places available for USS are:
- under 60kgs (Qualify from the 62.5kg class)
- under 75kgs (Qualify from the 72.5kg class)
- under 90kgs(Qualify from the 82.5kg class)
- Open (Qualify from the Open Women class)
Masters Women will be able to chose their weight class for USS, as we have no weight classes for our Masters Women. The Masters classes available for USS are:
- under 60kgs
- under 75kgs
- 75kgs plus
United States Strongman - 82.5kg Men's Worlds Available for - Top 3 Men in the 80kg class.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place from the Men's 80kg class will get the offer to compete at the USS Mens 82.5kg Worlds. This event will happen in October.
Train Strongman - The Official Strongman Games
Available to: Winners of each weight class at the 2018 Nationals (except 72.5kg Women), providing you meet the minimum standards laid out in the2018 ASA Nationals Events Page.
The weight classes available for OSG are:
- Under 64kg Women (Qualify from the 62.5kg class)
- Under 82kg Women (Qualify from the 82.5kg class)
- Open Women
- Masters Women
- Under 80kg Men
- Under 90kg Men
- Under 105kg Men
- Open Men
- Masters Men
As with previous years of the ASA Nationals, the top three places from the 2018 Australian Strongman Alliance Nationals in each weight class will automatically qualify for the 2019 Australian Strongman Alliance Nationals in that weight class.
